At St Teresa’s School we are a Catholic School and the Catholic Faith is central to all we do. We welcome children and families of all faiths.

At the heart of our school is our faith – Christ is at the centre of all we do.

Our school mission statement is:

‘Do the little things well’ – St Teresa of Lisieux

St. Teresa decided that everything she did each day – especially the small boring tasks like scrubbing the floors – she would do with great love. Teresa would complete her daily tasks willingly and cheerfully, and she would show great love to all she met. She called this her ‘Little Way’.

Each day we try to be like St Teresa and do little things well – our work; our play; our friendships; our prayers. The St Teresa School Little Way permeates through our day to day life.

At St. Teresa’s, we do all that we do with love. We embrace with love and care all children entrusted to us.

Each week, the children reflect on Bishop Hogarth Trust Virtues, Catholic Social Teaching and British Values and consider how these support them to 'Do the Little Things Well', they spend some time each week recording in a journal to enhance their understanding of these.

To support social justice we regularly run service projects (Foodbank collections, Giving Tree) outreach work (Visiting care homes and sheltered accommodation) and we are in charitable partnership with CAFOD, along with a number of other charities that classes have selected support during Lent.

Children are encouraged to lead groups: School Chaplains, Mini Vinnies, Eco-Team and Liturgical Dance leaders. We believe these groups promote a  number of values: stewardship, inclusion and respect.

All Catholic Schools are subject to a Diocesan Inspection under Section 48 of the Education Act 2005. View the report from the 2019 inspection below. The school was reported as Good.
