The Mini Vinnies – “doing the little things well”.

Mini Vinnies are 7 to 11 year olds based in schools and parishes across England and Wales, and in several other countries across the world. They come together to form a part of the St. Vincent de Paul Society England and Wales, a voluntary organisation dedicated to tackling poverty in all its forms. Mini Vinnies meet to pray, discuss and support however they can to help make a difference in their communities.

At St Teresa’s, our Mini Vinnies are a group of staff and children from Year Four, Five and Six. We meet regularly to pray, reflect and plan.

We like to plan different events where we can help local and global charities. We began our own Giving Tree this year, and we managed to send 120 gifts to children across the North East.

We work with our parishioners and school priest, Fr Jim. This year he has been into school to do some Advent crafts, and he participated in our washing of the feet service before our Easter break.
