Supporting Others Through Faith in Action
At St Teresa's, living out our faith means serving others. Throughout the year, we support a range of local, national and global charities, helping our children understand the importance of compassion, generosity and social justice.
Our Mini Vinnies play a leading role in many of our charitable initiatives and are excellent ambassadors for our Catholic mission. They organise fundraising events, promote our annual Reverse Advent Calendar to support the local food bank, and create items such as bracelets to raise additional funds for worthy causes.
Each Lent, our school community comes together to support CAFOD through our popular annual cake sale, raising money to help communities around the world.
In 2026, we launched our Class Penny Jar Challenge, allowing each class to choose and support a charity that is meaningful to them. This helps children take ownership of their fundraising and understand the impact they can have on others.
We also support the Red Sky Foundation through our school clothing recycling bank. For every tonne of clothing donated, £200 is raised to help support children and families through this important charity.

Social Outreach and Class Charities
At St Teresa’s, our Catholic faith calls us to love, serve and stand up for others. Inspired by the Gospel and guided by Catholic Social Teaching, we are committed to making a positive difference in our local community, across our nation and throughout the wider world.
We believe in doing the little things well. Through our class saints and chosen charities, every child has the opportunity to learn about the needs of others, develop compassion, and put faith into action. By supporting a range of local, national and international causes, our pupils learn that even the smallest acts of kindness can help change lives.
Throughout the year, each class will take part in social outreach activities linked to their class charity. Our journey is organised around three key themes:
Autumn Term - Local Outreach
We focus on helping those closest to home, supporting charities and organisations within our local community.
Spring Term - National Outreach
We broaden our understanding of challenges faced across the United Kingdom and explore ways we can make a difference nationally.
Summer Term - Global Outreach
We develop our understanding of our global family, recognising our responsibility to care for people and communities around the world.
As a whole school community, we also continue to support CAFOD, helping children understand how they can be agents of change and work towards a fairer, more just world.
Our social outreach programme enables children to live out our mission every day by showing solidarity, dignity, stewardship and compassion. Through prayer, fundraising, awareness campaigns, service projects and acts of kindness, we aim to ensure that faith is not simply something we learn about, but something we live.
