Welcome to Year 1
I am Mrs McWilliam and I am delighted to be the class teacher in Year 1. Here is a little bit about me…
My family are my most important thing! I am a very lucky Mam and have two amazing children; Ewan and Maggie. We love to walk our dog Rocket and play with our cat Monty. Me, my husband and the kids are big movie fans and we love to have movie nights at home or at the cinema. We love all things Marvel, Star Wars and 80’s classics!
I have wonderful parents, my Mam is a nurse and my Dad is a retired nurse who also does the gardening in our school. I am very lucky to have a big sister called Emma and a little brother called Matthew (although Emma is smaller than me in height and Matthew is taller!!) We love spending time together with our families and we are BIG supporters of Newcastle United. Toon toon!!
I have some awesome friends and we like to spend time together – we laugh a lot!! I love to read, knit and play boards games and I also thoroughly enjoy being a teacher, it’s a difficult job but the most rewarding, it’s definitely my vocation..
Learning
We enjoy learning maths in different ways.
The school nurse taught us how to wash our hands properly.
We visited the local area as part of our geography topic.
We have been planting beans as part of our science topic
and we have enjoying mixing colours in art.

PE Days
Our PE days are Wednesday and Friday. Children can wear their PE kits all day on PE days.
