Fantastic Football Success!
A huge congratulations to our Year 5 and 6 Girls' Football Team on their outstanding success in today's competition! The team delivered an incredible series of performances, winning all four of their matches with impressive scorelines of 5–0, 5–0, 5–0 and 2–0. Their skill, teamwork, determination and positive attitude were evident throughout the tournament, resulting in a well-deserved clean sweep of victories.
Celebrating Black History Month with African Drumming
To celebrate Black History Month, the children took part in a fantastic African drumming session filled with music, movement and fun. Throughout the workshop, pupils enjoyed singing, dancing and learning to play a variety of rhythms on the drums. The lively session provided an exciting opportunity to explore African culture through music while developing confidence, teamwork and creativity.
HSBC Workshops Help Pupils Build Money Skills
Our Year 3, 4, 5 and 6 pupils recently enjoyed a visit from HSBC, who delivered a series of fun and interactive workshops designed to help children develop important financial skills. Throughout the sessions, pupils explored a range of topics, including bank cards, Banking 101 (borrowing and saving), spending when gaming, and budgeting. The workshops encouraged children to think carefully about money management and make informed financial decisions both now and in the future.
Reception Explore the Wonders of Autumn
Reception had a fantastic afternoon exploring our local park in search of signs of autumn! The children took part in an exciting autumn scavenger hunt, carefully looking for seasonal treasures and observing the wonderful changes that this time of year brings. They also enjoyed creating beautiful bark rubbings, developing their observation skills while getting creative outdoors.
Supporting Our Class Charities
At St Teresa’s, we are committed to helping our pupils understand the importance of supporting others and making a positive difference in the local community. Recently, several of our classes have had the opportunity to welcome representatives from their chosen class charities to learn more about the incredible work they do. Year 5 were delighted to meet Emily from the Hartlepool Baby Bank, who spoke about the support the charity provides to local families. Pupils also donated a fantastic collection of items to help those in need.
Spreading Joy on our Feast Day Visit
Today, our amazing pupils enjoyed a very special visit to Bramley Court as part of our St Teresa’s Feast Day celebrations, spreading joy, friendship and kindness within the local community. The children delighted residents with beautiful flowers that had been generously donated for the occasion, bringing smiles to faces and making the day even more memorable. The visit provided a wonderful opportunity for pupils to connect with others and demonstrate the caring values that are at the heart of our school.
St Teresa’s Celebrates a Wonderful Feast Day
Wow, what a fantastic day we have had celebrating the Feast of St Teresa! Inspired by St Teresa’s famous message about doing "little things with great love", our pupils embraced the spirit of the day through a range of thoughtful acts, kindnesses and celebrations. It was wonderful to see so many children taking part and demonstrating the values of compassion, generosity and care for others.
Mini Vinnies Raise Funds for Macmillan
Pupils in our Mini Vinnies group enjoyed supporting a fantastic cause as they helped to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. The fundraising event provided a wonderful opportunity for children to put our school values of Participation and Community into action, working together to make a positive difference for others. Through their enthusiasm and generosity, they helped support the vital work that Macmillan carries out for people affected by cancer and their families.
Reception Pupils Explore Storytelling Through Movement and Dance
Children in Reception at St Teresa's Catholic Primary School, Darlington, enjoyed a fantastic PE session this week as part of the Move & Imagine: EYFS Story-Led Creative Learning programme. The session was led by a visitor from Karen Liddle Dance School, who encouraged pupils to use storytelling, movement and imagination to bring ideas to life through dance and creative activity.
Reception Children Shine at Sports Day
Reception pupils at St Teresa’s Catholic Primary School in Hartlepool enjoyed a fantastic afternoon of sport, teamwork and fun as they took part in their annual Reception Sports Day. The event gave the school's youngest pupils the opportunity to showcase their enthusiasm and determination through a variety of sporting activities. Throughout the afternoon, children demonstrated excellent teamwork and perseverance, with every participant giving their best effort.
